1 c mashed potatoes 2 c hot milk 4 tbsp butter melt butter, put in pot and milk mix 6 tbsp sugar 2 tsp salt 2 beaten eggs 2 2/3 or just 3 yeast cakes (almost 3 tbsp yeast) mix and add to liquid add about 6 c flour knead like bread, let rise twice, punch, rise once more. Roll and cut. cup and lid/syrup. Let rise on pan. Fry in oil. 2 or 3 in oil. Drain on paper towel. Sugar in bag. Powdered sugar and a little water. Grams buttermilk-not flaky- biscuits make hole-fry, dip in glaze. Notes: Lorraine John Isaacson (Grandma Moon's mother's step-sister. She would tap dance even in her eighties. She married Carl Issacson. Carl's family made these for the county fair that came to Malad, Idaho. Grandma used to go to the fair in the summer and these were the best recipe around.
