1 lb Longhorn Cheese or Sharp Cheddar (3 1/2-4 cups) grated 1 lb Monterey Jack Cheese grated 12 slices white bread (sour dough bread is also good) 6 eggs beaten 4 cups whole milk 1/2 t dry mustard 1/2 t salt 1/4 t pepper 1/2 lb crumbled bacon, chopped ham or sausage
Directions
One per line
Place 6 slices of bread in a buttered 9x13 casserole dish. Spread with half of the cheeses. Place the other 6 slices of bread on top of cheeses. Add the rest of the cheese. Sprinkle on your choice of meat. Beat the eggs. Add the milk, dry mustard, salt and pepper. Mix well. Pour over the bread and cheese. Chill overnight. Bake at 350° for 45 minutes. Let stand 10 minutes before cutting.
