Baked Yams or Sweet potatoes Edit Tags: Side Dishes, Vegetable Dishes

Ingredients:- 3 cups precooked and mashed yams or sweet potatoes(I like to cook my own rather than using canned but either will work)
- 2 eggs (can leave out if you want denser yams, this makes them fluffier)
- ½ cup melted butter

- topping
- â…“ cup flour
- â…“ cup butter
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup chopped walnuts or pecans
Directions:

Mix the precooked yams, eggs and butter.

(tip: put in blender, not in kitchenaid!)

Place in 8x8x pan.

Mix topping ingredients with a fork and put on top of yam mixture.

Bake at 350° for 40 minutes. (Shelly speaking: I baked it for 40 minutes and it came out a little too crispy on top. I think it would be best to cook it for 35 minutes next time)

Just double everything for a 9x13 pan except the time and temperature.

(This is Shelly: sometimes I leave out about 1-2 c of the topping when I double it, and it still is really good)
