Ingredients:
Box of pickling cucumbers (Short and fat) (Don't cut off ends)
Alum
Uniodized salt
Cider Vinegar 5% acidity
Dried red pepper
garlic
water
dill heads (dill that is starting to go to seed)
Directions:
Prepare jars
Mix brine by combining 1 cup uniodized salt with 5 quarts water and 1 ½ quart cider vinegar. Bring to boil.
In each jar, add ¼ teaspoon alum, 1-2 pieces dried red pepper, 1 clove of garlic
Fill with cucumbers alternately with a couple heads of dill
Cover with brine
Put lids on and put in hot water bath for 20 minutes. Start counting time as soon as bottles are immersed.
Open after 3-4 months
