Ingredients:
  • 2 cups Warm Water 110°F
  • ¼ cup Sugar
  • 1 ½ Tbsp Active Dry Yeast
  • 1 ½ tsp Salt
  • ¼ cup Oil
  • 6 cups Artisan Bread Flour
Directions:
  1. In a large bowl, combine sugar, water and yeast.
  2. Set aside for 5 minutes.
  3. Add salt and oil to mixture and stir to combine.
  4. Add flour one cup at a time.
  5. Turn dough onto a lightly floured surface and knead until smooth, about 5 minutes.
  6. Place dough in an oiled bowl and turn to coat.
  7. Cover and let rise until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
  8. Meanwhile, oil two 9 x 5-inch loaf pans.
  9. Punch down dough.
  10. Knead for three minutes.
  11. Divide in half and shape into two loaves, Place loaves into oiled 9 x 5-inch loaf pans.
  12. Cover and let rise for 30 minutes.
  13. While bread rises, preheat oven to 350°F.
  14. Bake at 350ºF for 30 minutes or until loaves are golden brown.
  15. Remove from pans and let cool completely on wire rack.
