Ingredients
One per line
1 1/4 cup water 2 1/4 teaspoons yeast 3 Tablespoons butter (Softened) 1 tablespoon sugar 1 1/2 teaspoons salt 1/4-1/2 teapoon garlic powder 1 egg 2/3 cup mashed potatoes (I used leftover mashed potatoes but can use instant from a box.) 4-6 cups flour
Directions
One per line
Mix the water, yeast, butter, sugar, salt and garlic powder. Add egg and mashed potatoes and mix well. Start adding the flour. Use enough flour to keep the dough soft and pliable. Knead for 6-8 minutes. Place in a greased bowl. Cover and let rise for 1 1/2 hours. Punch down and shape into two loaves. Let rise for for 45 minute to an hour. Bake at 375° for 25 minutes. I like to rub butter over the crust just after it comes out of the oven. Gives it a shiny look and tastes great!
