16 Butter or Boston Bibb lettuce leaves 1 lb lean ground beef 1 T cooking oil 1 large onion chopped 1/4 cup hoisin sauce ( Recipe below) 2 cloves garlic minced 1 T soy sauce 1 T Red wine vinegar 2 tsp minced ginger 1 dash Asian chile pepper sauce 1 8 oz can water chestnuts draiined and finely chopped 1 bunch green onions chopped 2 tsp sesame oil Hoisin Sauce ingredients: 4 T soy sauce 2 T peanut butter 1 T honey, molasses or brown sugar 2 tsp white vinegar 1/8 tsp garlic powder 2 tsp sesame oil couple drops chinese hot sauce 1/8 tsp black pepper Mix all ingreidents together. It takes a minute to really mix together but it really works.

Rinse whole lettuce leaves and pat dry. Set aside, Heat large skillet onve medium-high heat. Heat oil and cook beef to brown and crumbly. Set beef in a bowl and using the same pan, cook the chopped onion until tender. Stir in hoisin sauce, garlic, soy sacue, vinegar, ginger and chile peppers sauce into the onions. Add water chestnuts, green onions, sesame oil, and cooked beef. Cook and stir until the onions just begin to wilt, about two minutes. Arrange lettuce leaves around the outer ede of a large serving platter and pile meat mixture in the center.
